Andrew Gonzales, co-owner, operator Our small business grew out of the pandemic after a layoff at what I believed would be the industry I would retire from. In early 2020, I was laid off from my engineering job in the oil and gas industry. It was a massive blow to my family's well-being. At this time, I realized I had to re-evaluate my career choice, I was spending weeks away from home, working hundreds of miles away. The pandemic put life into a different perspective. I realized I needed to be home with my family, especially during this difficult time. I had an entrepreneurial spirit from a very young age but was too comfortable to take the plunge. I have always loved working with my hands. I have worked in the service industry my whole life. Working my way up to field engineer in the oil and gas industry. I was very proud of my position but prouder of the climb. The hard work and dedication I invested in other organizations was rewarding. As I examined my options in early 2020, I realized that if an underdog like me can become a field engineer within a large corporation, I can invest that same time and effort into something that belongs to my family. As I mentioned, I love working with my hands. I wanted to provide woodworking services with excellent customer service and outstanding products. Claudia Gonzales, co-owner, operator I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health. I have experience working with communities. As a professional, I have acquired great listening skills. Maintaining a positive state of mind is essential in my daily life.
